Where can I have cryotherapy in Chester?

Visit our Evermore Pharmacy Chester branch on Church Road, Saughall, CH1 6EP. The booking calendar below is set to this clinic. It appears as Evermore The Pharmacy Clinic in the calendar and your booking details.

For help arranging your visit, call 01244 881765. You can also check our branch opening times and address before travelling. Let us know if you need help with access or have a question you’d like answered before booking.

To find out the cost, call our Saughall team and tell us what you’d like checked. Ask what your appointment includes and whether a follow-up would cost extra. You can read more about our cryotherapy service and how it works before deciding.

What can freezing treatment help with?

Cryotherapy uses very cold temperatures to treat a small area of skin. At our clinic, we assess concerns such as warts, verrucas and skin tags before offering treatment. We’ll explain your options and check that freezing is appropriate for the area you want treated.

You don’t always need a procedure. Warts and verrucas can disappear on their own, although this may take months or years. Pharmacy treatments may be another option. Skin tags are usually harmless and can often be left alone if they aren’t causing a problem. Read the NHS advice on warts and verrucas and skin tags for more information.

Before deciding on treatment, it helps to talk through:

  • What the skin growth is and whether it needs another medical opinion.
  • Whether leaving it alone or trying another treatment is an option.
  • What freezing may feel like and the risks for your skin.
  • Whether you might need more than one visit.
  • The cost and what care you’ll need afterwards.

There’s no need to decide before you’ve asked your questions. If you’re nervous about discomfort or worried about a visible mark, tell us at the start.

When should I speak to my GP first?

Have a new or changing skin growth checked before arranging removal. Contact your GP if a mole changes shape, size or colour, or becomes itchy, painful, crusty or bleeds. You should also see your GP about a wart that changes or bleeds, or a growth you’re worried about. Don’t assume an unfamiliar lump is a skin tag.

Our private appointment is not a replacement for that assessment. The NHS guidance on moles explains which changes to look out for.

Getting ready for your appointment

You don’t need to know the name of the skin concern before speaking to us. A few details will help us understand what’s been happening:

  • Tell us when you first noticed it and whether it has changed.
  • Describe any pain, bleeding or irritation.
  • Bring the names of creams or other treatments you’ve already tried.
  • Have your medicine list and relevant medical history handy.
  • Mention any problems with circulation, healing or reactions to cold.

Don’t cut, pick or try to remove the growth before your visit. If you’re booking for a child, phone us first with their age so we can check the right appointment options.

For cryotherapy in Chester, choose Cryotherapy (Cold Therapy) Skin Treatment Service and Evermore The Pharmacy Clinic. The calendar allows 15 minutes for the appointment. We’ll assess your skin first; you may need different advice or a further medical check instead of treatment.

What happens after cryotherapy?

Freezing can sting or burn, and the area may feel sore afterwards. Redness, swelling or a blister can develop. There’s also a risk of infection, scarring or a lighter or darker patch of skin; colour changes can be permanent. We’ll discuss these risks before you decide.

Follow the aftercare advice you’re given. In general:

  • Wash gently and avoid rubbing the treated area.
  • Let any scab fall away naturally rather than picking it.
  • Leave a blister intact and ask for advice if it becomes painful.
  • Protect the area from clothing that rubs against it.
  • Contact your GP if there’s discharge or worsening pain after 48 hours.

Leeds Teaching Hospitals explains common cryotherapy side effects and aftercare. If you’re unsure about healing, call our team rather than trying to manage it alone.

Healing can take a few weeks, and some skin growths need repeat treatment or return later. We can discuss your progress and whether another visit would help. There’s no guaranteed number of sessions. Gloucestershire Hospitals’ cryotherapy information covers healing and the possibility of further treatment.

Your cryotherapy questions

Can I book directly with your Chester clinic?

Yes. Use the calendar below for our Saughall clinic or call 01244 881765 for help. We’ll check your skin concern before treatment. If a growth is changing or worrying you, speak to your GP first.

Is this the same as whole-body cryotherapy?

No. Our service treats small areas of skin, such as a suitable wart or skin tag. You won’t be stepping into a cold chamber.

Will one appointment be enough?

Sometimes a follow-up is needed. It depends on the skin growth and how it responds, so we can’t promise removal in one visit. We’ll discuss the next step with you after assessment.

Can I have several skin tags checked?

Call us first and explain how many areas you’d like checked and where they are. We can help you choose an appointment and discuss the cost. Each area needs checking before we decide whether to treat it.
